What is a Mommy Makeover?
A mommy makeover is a combination of procedures that restore the shape and appearance of the body after having a child. This procedure will target areas that are most affected by pregnancy, such as the breasts and abdomen, but can also include other areas of concern. This single stage procedure can include a combination of the following procedures:
– Breast Augmentation
– Breast Lift
– Tummy Tuck
– Vaginal Rejuvenation
– Liposuction
– Arm Lift
– Brazilian Butt Lift
Our Tampa mommy makeover is completely customizable to fit the needs and desires of the patient.
How Long Do I Need To Recovery from a Mommy Makeover?
The time it takes to recover from a mommy makeover in Tampa will depend on the procedures you have chosen. All patients will have some sort of dressings or an elastic bandage placed on the body immediately following surgery. Some patients will be given compression garments to help reduce swelling. Dr. Buchanan will give further direction on how often the bandages should be changed, and how long to wear the compression garments.
Generally patients who have a significant combined procedure such as a mommy makeover will need at least two weeks off work to rest and recover. Minimal activity during this time is critical to allow your body to heal properly. Very light exercise can be resumed after roughly four weeks, and moderate exercise can be resumed after six.
Over the next several weeks swelling will begin to decrease and soreness and bruising will subside. The shape of your targeted areas will begin to smooth out and start to fall into its permanent place. Remember to continue following Dr. Buchanan’s care instructions and always attend scheduled follow-up appointments.
