About Male Neck Lift
Am I a Good Candidate for a Male Neck Lift?
– You desire tighter, smoother skin around the neck or jawline, but still want to keep a natural appearance
– You want to reduce the appearance of a double chin or sagging skin around the neck
– You have good skin elasticity. This procedure involves the pulling and stretching of the skin. Good skin elasticity increases the likelihood of a smooth appearance once you’ve completely healed.
– You are a nonsmoker. If you smoke, most plastic surgeons will ask that you stop smoking entirely, or stop smoking six weeks prior to your procedure, as well as six weeks post-operation.
– You are in good health overall. This procedure requires a period of healing. Ideally, the patient would not have any medical conditions that would impair or complicate the healing process. If you suffer from a chronic medical condition, it’s best to speak to your primary care physician to see if this procedure is right for you.
If you believe you are a good candidate for the male neck lift based on the qualifications outlined above, we suggest you schedule a consultation with Dr. Buchanan to discuss the possibility of a neck lift and the added benefits it could bring to your life.
What Will My Recovery Look Like?
While recovery from this procedure can vary from patient to patient depending on the complexity of the surgery, we usually suggest a minimum of two weeks off of work in order to rest and heal. If your neck lift was combined with another procedure, such a full face lift, you should allow for more time off.
Immediately following surgery, patients are sent home with bandages around the face and neck that will help mitigate swelling. However, you can still expect severe swelling and bruising that generally lasts about a week. It is critical to keep the head elevated above your heart during this time in order to encourage blood circulation, which will aid in the healing process. Avoid twisting and bending the neck as much as possible.
It is extremely important to continue following Dr. Buchanan’s care instructions and always attend scheduled follow-up appointments.
How Long Will Results Last?
How Much Does a Male Neck Lift Cost?
– Anesthesia fees
– Operating room costs
– Blood or additional medical testing
– Compression garments for post-surgery
– Prescriptions
– Miscellaneous expenses, such as surgeon’s fees
Additionally, the cost of the procedure can be affected by the following circumstances:
– The amount of experience and overall reputation of your surgeon. You’ll find that surgeon’s with many years of experience, or that are highly regarded, will typically cost more.
– The techniques the surgeon uses for the procedure and the complexity of the case.
– Where your surgeon’s practice is located. Typically, larger cities have higher operational costs and are more expensive.
If you’ve considered a neck lift, but feel like you are limited financially, speak to Dr. Buchanan or one of the VIVIFY staff members about financing options. We do our best to work with each patient by offering financing plans to help him achieve his surgical goals.
