47 y/o female diagnosed with right breast cancer who underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy. She then chose to pursue bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomy and single-stage breast reconstruction with placement of her final implants at the time of her mastectomy. The implants were placed in the pre-pectoral position (in front of the muscle) with acellular dermal matrix (ADM) support. She then needed to undergo post-op radiation to her right breast to complete her cancer treatment. This is a great example of the benefits of prepectoral implant-based reconstruction in patients who require radiation as there is much less distortion of the implant and the pocket.
